For new Industrial Engineering projects across various sectors, we require a **MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER in Zarautz**, Gipuzkoa. **Responsibilities** * Design, size, and develop mechanical equipment and components for bulk solid handling installations, ensuring safe, efficient, and manufacturable solutions compliant with customer specifications, applicable regulations, and company quality standards. * Design and calculate pneumatic and mechanical equipment and systems (conveyors, silos, hoppers, valves, etc.) based on project requirements. * Select appropriate materials, standardized parts, and commercial components suited to service conditions. * Prepare assembly and fabrication drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and technical specifications, supported by the Drafting Department. * Collaborate with procurement and suppliers during component selection and resolution of construction details. * Coordinate with other departments (process, electrical, civil) to ensure design integration. * Review and validate designs to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards. * Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, resolving design-related issues. * Supervise and validate in the workshop the receipt of mechanical equipment and components, verifying compliance with design and quality specifications. * Participate in final validation of mechanical installations at site, verifying correct equipment installation and operation. * Maintain up-to-date technical documentation in the company’s document management system. * Primarily office-based technical work, with visits to workshops, suppliers, or client sites for equipment acceptance and installation validation. **Requirements** * Technical Engineering Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * Higher Vocational Training (FP Superior) in Mechanical Design with solid experience in machinery calculation and design will be valued. * Minimum 3 years’ experience in machinery design, sheet metal fabrication, or industrial installations. * Proficiency in CAD/3D software (Inventor, SolidWorks or similar) for machinery and sheet metal design. * Mechanical component calculation: mechanics of materials, welds, bolted joints, power transmission. * Knowledge of bulk solid handling systems, electro-pneumatics, process equipment, and steel structures. * Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and manufacturing standards. * Experience in bulk solid handling projects, process plants, or related industries will be highly valued. * Flexibility to handle workload peaks during critical design phases. * Knowledge + Mechanical design standards (ISO, UNE, DIN, ASME). + Machinery safety regulations (Machinery Directive, CE marking). **Competencies** * Analytical ability and mechanical calculation skills. * Technical creativity and problem-solving orientation. * Rigor and attention to detail. * Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers. * Planning and organizational skills to meet project deadlines. * Teamwork and proactivity in responding to design changes. **Languages** * English level B1\-B2, with sufficient proficiency to read manuals, drawings, and specifications. **Work Location** * Zarautz, Gipuzkoa * Availability for occasional travel (project meetings, supplier workshops, installation supervision, commissioning). **Offer** * Indefinite-term position. * Opportunity to join a major engineering company. * Remuneration commensurate with responsibility and experience. * Excellent team environment.
