IT Project Manager – Banking Sector (Java Environment)

Job Summary: We are seeking an IT Project Manager to lead the evolution and maintenance of critical applications in a Java environment within the banking sector, managing multidisciplinary technical teams. End-to-end management of highly critical projects DESCRIPTION We are looking for an IT Project Manager to join a strategic project in the banking sector, focused on the evolution and maintenance of critical applications in a Java environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and supervision of the project, ensuring compliance with scope, timelines, quality, and budget. They will lead multidisciplinary technical teams (backend, database, and architecture), acting as the liaison point between technical and functional areas. Key responsibilities include: * Definition of the project plan and milestone tracking. * Coordination of technical teams in Java environments (Java 8, MVC frameworks). * Risk management, dependency handling, and budget control. * Supervision of Oracle database developments and backend environments. * Ensuring software quality and adherence to corporate standards. * Executive reporting and stakeholder follow-up. * Management of critical incidents and deployment coordination. The project operates in a technology stack based on Java 8, Oracle, and MVC frameworks, with progressive evolution toward modern frameworks such as Spring. Working Hours: 43 hours per week (9 AM–7 PM Monday to Thursday, 8 AM–7 PM Friday); intensive schedule of 7 hours per day in July and August Project Manager / Technical Lead for the Retail Factory area, managing projects with BBVA profile for Open Banking, Smart Assistance, and Customer Profile initiatives REQUIREMENTS **Mandatory:** * Proven experience as an IT Project Manager in IT environments. * Technical knowledge in: * Java 8 * Oracle * JDBC * MVC frameworks (e.g., Struts or equivalent) * Experience managing technical teams. * Ability to liaise effectively with business and technology departments. * Experience in high-criticality environments and transactional systems. * Knowledge of project management methodologies (agile and/or traditional). **Desirable:** * Experience with Spring MVC or Spring Boot. * Knowledge of JPA. * Prior experience in banking or financial sector projects. * Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar).
