Description

At LINQ, we are looking for a Software Engineer or Computer Engineer to develop and deploy the software that controls our artificial vision inspection machines. We envision a candidate with experience in developing and deploying Deep Learning applications in real industrial environments, and with solid programming skills in Python. **ABOUT US:** At LINQ, we help industrial corporations optimize quality control of metal parts using our turnkey non-destructive inspection systems. To date, this has meant validating mechanical properties — such as the outcome of heat treatment — using electromagnetic technology, replacing destructive testing methods that require removing a part from the production line, cutting it, and analyzing it. Our machines perform this inspection without destroying the part, in seconds and without stopping production. From now on, we are applying the same philosophy — automatic, inline, production-line-speed inspection — to a new business line based on artificial vision for detecting surface defects in metal parts. Today, many plants still detect these defects — marks, scratches, or other imperfections — via human visual inspection at the end of the line. This method entails: * High dependence on skilled labor * Nevertheless, inconsistent inspections and, consequently, * Defective parts slipping through and being assembled into the final product Our artificial vision systems automatically detect these defects by combining vision hardware, industrial software, and artificial intelligence models: * Without relying on dedicated inspection operators * Consistently and traceably, part by part * Capturing defects that may escape human visual inspection within the production cycle time To achieve this, software is a critical component of the product: it governs the machine, communicates among various subsystems, processes data, executes inspection logic, and presents results to the industrial user. **YOUR MISSION:** Your mission will be to develop the embedded software for our artificial vision machines, which includes the following: * Real-time processing of acquired images * Inference using AI models on those images * Automatic decision-making * Machine Learning / Deep Learning-based learning system * Storage in SQL database * Generation of inspection results on HMI Within the engineering team, your work will focus on ensuring the software is robust, well-documented, repeatable, and ready to operate under real production conditions. **IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:** * You will program the backend, primarily in Python. * You will develop APIs, preferably using FastAPI, to communicate internal services and modules. * You will build HMIs using web technologies, primarily TypeScript and React. * You will establish communication systems between PLCs and the backend. * You will work with SQL databases to record, query, and analyze inspection data. * You will participate in deploying products containing Machine Learning / Deep Learning components in industrial environments. * You will produce documented, robust, traceable, and testable code. * You will handle integration, validation, and commissioning of our machines, including international projects involving occasional travel. **WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?** We envision a candidate who meets the following criteria: * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. * At least 3 years of backend programming experience in Python related to Deep Learning / Machine Learning technologies. * Frontend development knowledge, preferably with JavaScript frameworks such as React. * Experience developing APIs, especially FastAPI. * Proficiency in SQL databases. * Ability to produce documented, robust, traceable, and testable code. * Advanced English proficiency, essential for an international industrial environment. * Strong communication skills, both internally and occasionally with clients. * Willingness to travel for short-term assignments abroad (2–3 weeks).
