Job Summary The Continuous Improvement Manager leads the implementation of the continuous improvement and operational excellence strategy for the production unit, delivering quantifiable results through the CIS program, Lean projects, and *Kaizen Events*. This role supervises the local continuous improvement team, drives improvement projects on the shop floor (Gemba), and ensures strategic alignment via Hoshin Kanri, KPIs, and *Daily Management*. Additionally, the Continuous Improvement Manager trains plant personnel in Lean methodology and acts as a change agent. Key responsibilities include: * Supervise the local continuous improvement team. * Be responsible for the cost-savings program driven by continuous improvement projects (CIS). * Lead Lean projects, such as Value Stream Mapping and its implementation. * Be responsible for implementing the plant’s continuous improvement strategy. * Be responsible for the Kaizen process and the Kaizen *Funnel*. * Facilitate Kaizen events using various Lean tools, Standard Work, SMED, or 6S. * Train and develop personnel in facilitating *Kaizen Events*. * Be responsible for the *Daily Management* process as a continuous improvement mechanism. * Lead problem-solving activities using various tools such as the 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagram, or *Noise To Constant* method. * Support the *Strategic Operations Manager* in developing the plant strategy, as well as defining TTIs and KPIs. * Generate and interpret data to support and improve operational KPIs. * Develop educational materials and deliver training as needed on Lean and continuous improvement. * Lead and supervise activities and projects on the shop floor (*Go to Gemba!*). * **Act as a change agent!** Your profile We are looking for someone with: * University degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Organization Engineering. * Master’s degree in Lean Manufacturing or Industrial Organization. * Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred. * Over 5 years of experience in roles related to continuous improvement or Lean methodology. * Experience managing Kaizen processes and/or continuous improvement initiatives. * Experience transforming processes through Value Stream Mapping (VSM) projects. * Knowledge of the Daily Management and Problem-Solving processes. * Experience facilitating Kaizen events. * Strong continuous improvement culture and Lean methods knowledge (5S, SMED, TPM, 3P, Kanban, or Standard Work). * Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as grinding or turning. * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. * Strong problem-solving skills (5 Whys, Ishikawa diagram, Noise To Constant…). * Clear thinking and strong prioritization abilities. * Fluency in English, Spanish, and Catalan. * Proficiency in IT tools: Power BI, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). * Initiative, proactivity, high motivation, and ability to work under urgency. * Strong project management skills. * Confidence in one’s abilities: must make fast and accurate decisions. * Strong leadership and teamwork orientation; ability to lead change. * Excellent interpersonal and technical problem-solving skills.
