You will be part of ***Global Asset Engineering and Design*** team, a corporate function in ***APM Terminals HQ*** , responsible for the technical and financial evaluation of terminal development and investment projects across APM Terminals’ global portfolio. **About the role:** We are looking for a **Civil Engineer** to support the development and delivery of civil and marine infrastructure projects across APM Terminals globally. In this role, you will contribute to translating operational and commercial needs into technical specifications, participate in developing Employer’s Requirements, and support project execution alongside senior engineers and external consultants. Reporting to Head of Global Asset Engineering and Design, position will be ***based preferably in The Hague or Barcelona.*** *(Expected global travel is around 20%.).* **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ * Support the analysis, planning, and development of new terminal construction and expansion projects. * Assist in updating and maintaining **Standard Employer’s Requirements (SER)** for civil works. * Contribute to translating operational and commercial needs into technical specifications. * Participate in feasibility studies, capacity assessments, and terminal master planning activities. * Support procurement processes by helping prepare RFP documentation and evaluating proposals. * Participate in design reviews to ensure alignment with technical, operational, and safety requirements. **Qualifications \& Experience** -------------------------------- ### **Experience** * 3–7 years of experience in civil or marine engineering, ideally with exposure to infrastructure or industrial projects. * Experience in ports, maritime works, or container terminal environments is an advantage. * Ability to work in cross‑functional, multicultural environments. * Understanding of how port equipment interacts with infrastructure is a plus. * Familiarity with risk identification and mitigation in engineering projects. ### **Education** * MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering or Marine Engineering. ### **Skills** * Strong analytical and problem\-solving capabilities. * Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in international teams. * Ability to assist in concept development and translate ideas into structured engineering tasks. * High attention to detail, quality, and safety. * Fluent in English (spoken and written) at a business level. * Organized, proactive, and committed to high‑quality delivery. **4\.
