Job Summary: We are seeking a DevOps Engineer for a space sector project, responsible for the operation, maintenance, and evolution of a Kubernetes- and microservices-based infrastructure within a high-criticality environment. Key Highlights: 1. Solid production Kubernetes experience 2. Focus on advanced operations and automation 3. Role of responsibility in critical systems DESCRIPTION **DevOps Engineer – Space Sector** We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with solid production Kubernetes experience to join a space sector project in a high-criticality, restricted-access environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and evolution of a Kubernetes- and microservices-based infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, platform security, and deployment reliability. This role is clearly oriented toward advanced operations (Ops) and infrastructure automation in on-premise environments, where processes are highly controlled and traceability is an essential requirement. Key responsibilities include: * Daily management of production Kubernetes clusters: health monitoring, capacity planning, controlled upgrades, and resolution of complex incidents. * Management of deployments and releases using Helm and Kustomize, as well as maintenance and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines. * Implementation of GitOps practices to ensure consistency and version control. * Design and improvement of system observability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki, and OpenTelemetry. * Kubernetes networking management (Ingress, DNS, TLS, certificates, network policies, and service mesh where applicable). * Implementation of fundamental security measures: RBAC, segregated namespaces, secret management, image hardening, and vulnerability scanning. * Infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible. * Technical support to development teams, ensuring sound deployment practices and efficient incident resolution. Work location is 100% on-site in a Restricted Access Zone (RAZ), requiring eligibility for HPS (Personal Security Clearance) and a high level of English (C1). This is a technically responsible position within a critical systems ecosystem, where stability, security, and operational robustness are top priorities. Barcelona. REQUIREMENTS * Proven hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production. ### **Systems and Technical Foundation** * Advanced Linux (administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning). * Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, basic routing, connectivity troubleshooting). * Bash and Python scripting for automation. ### **Containers and Orchestration** * Production Kubernetes (operations, upgrades, capacity planning, troubleshooting). * Docker: image building, registry management, versioning, and rollback. * Management of Ingress Controllers, internal DNS, TLS certificates. * Service Mesh knowledge (desirable). ### **Deployment and CI/CD** * Helm and Kustomize for deployments. * Design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with GitOps approach (ArgoCD, Flux). ### **Observability** * Prometheus and Grafana (metrics and alerting). * ELK Stack or Loki (centralized logging). * OpenTelemetry (distributed tracing). ### **Security** * RBAC and namespace management. * Secure secret management. * Docker image hardening. * Vulnerability scanning and patch application. * Knowledge of Kubernetes network policies. ### **Infrastructure as Code** * Terraform. * Ansible. * Declarative infrastructure automation and infrastructure version control. ### **Languages and Additional Requirements** * High-level English (C1). * Eligibility for HPS (Personal Security Clearance). * Availability for 100% on-site work in RAZ.
