Description
This position focuses on daily operations within a recycling plant, where various recyclable materials are handled and processed. Key tasks include manual sorting of waste transported on conveyor belts, separating plastics, cardboard, glass, metals, and specific containers to ensure proper segregation. It is also required to discard inappropriate or contaminated materials that could damage machinery or compromise the quality of the final recycled material. This step is critical to maintaining process efficiency and the purity of materials destined for reuse.
Another area of responsibility involves handling and preparing materials, including receiving collection trucks and placing waste into designated storage areas. The operator is responsible for feeding machinery such as hoppers, shredders, presses, and compactors, introducing materials safely and systematically. Additionally, basic presses are operated to form compact bales of cardboard, plastic, or metal, which are then strapped and prepared for subsequent transport to processing centers or for sale.
The role also includes maintenance and safety duties to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. This involves regular cleaning of conveyor belts, walkways, and work areas, removing debris and obstacles that could cause accidents. A strict protocol is followed to prevent hazards and ensure uninterrupted plant operation, contributing to environmental sustainability through proper waste management.
The offered salary is 10.06 euros per hour, with rotating shifts that may be morning shifts from 6:00 to 14:30, afternoon shifts from 13:30 to 22:00, or split shifts from 8:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30.
A forklift license is required to operate specific machinery, spoken and comprehension proficiency in Spanish, as well as a driver's license and personal vehicle for commuting.
