At LINQ, we are seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer and PLC Programmer to develop the control systems for our advanced inspection equipment. We are looking for a candidate with industrial PLC programming experience and solid expertise in Siemens programming (STEP 7 and TIA Portal), HMI development, and associated electrical hardware. In addition to programming and commissioning equipment, you will participate in defining, coordinating, and validating electrical designs according to each client’s requirements. **ABOUT US:** At LINQ, we develop turnkey systems to help industrial corporations optimize quality control of metal parts. We work with two complementary technologies: **Electromagnetic Inspection.** Many plants still validate critical processes—such as heat treatment—using destructive testing: removing a part from the line, cutting it, and analyzing it. Our machines measure its electromagnetic properties and estimate whether it meets required mechanical properties—without destruction—in seconds and without stopping production. **Machine Vision.** In many plants, surface defects—such as marks, scratches, or other imperfections—are still detected via manual visual inspection at the end of the line. Our systems identify them automatically, consistently, and traceably—part by part, within the production cycle time. In both areas, the PLC is a critical component of the equipment: it governs the machine, coordinates various subsystems, and executes the complete inspection sequence. **YOUR MISSION:** Your mission will be to define, coordinate, and validate the electrical hardware of our inspection equipment, as well as develop its PLC-based control system, responsible for: * Controlling the full operational sequence—from part entry to inspection result * Managing sensors, actuators, and I/O signals of the equipment * Communicating and integrating with the electronics and measurement systems performing the inspection * Communicating and integrating with plant-level automatic part loading/unloading systems (gantry, robot, etc.) * Presenting the operator interface (HMI) Within the engineering team, your work will ensure the system is reliable, repeatable, and maintainable—designed for demanding industrial production environments. You will also ensure compliance with each client’s specified electrical and electronic design requirements. **YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Analyze client specifications (SW and HW) * Manage subcontracting for electrical schematic design and electrical installation * Review final documentation and prepare documentation packages for client submission during design and final acceptance phases * Program PLCs for our equipment (Siemens, STEP 7 and TIA Portal) * Develop and maintain standard PLC programming * Develop and maintain HMI operation screens (WinCC, HMI PRO) * Participate in control integration with measurement systems: sensors, electronics, and data acquisition systems * Conduct commissioning and validation at our clients’ production plants—including international projects involving occasional travel **WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU?** We envision a candidate who meets the following criteria: * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering * A Master’s degree (in Electronic Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Electrical Engineering) will be valued * Minimum 3 years of industrial PLC programming experience * Experience with industrial communications and field buses (Profinet, Profibus, EtherCAT, etc.) * Knowledge and experience in Siemens PLC programming (STEP 7 and TIA Portal) and HMI development (WinCC, HMI PRO) * Ability to design, interpret, and update electrical schematics in accordance with client specifications * Advanced English proficiency—essential for working in an international industrial environment * Strong communication skills—both internally and occasionally with clients * Willingness to travel internationally for short-term assignments of 2–3 weeks We will also value experience in any of the following areas: * PLC programming for other brands (Allen Bradley, Omron, Fanuc…) * Turnkey projects for OEMs or Tier 1 automotive suppliers * Numerical control (CNC) programming * A second language (French or German) **WHAT ELSE WILL WE VALUE?** * Autonomy to learn and make decisions without requiring everything to be predefined * Ability to work under pressure in demanding contexts * Professional ambition—your growth drives LINQ’s growth * Genuine commitment to the project—non-negotiable at LINQ **WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU AT LINQ?** You will join a growing, technology-based industrial SME with proprietary products and top-tier industrial clients.
