We are seeking a Control Room Operator – Tailings / Filtration – Water for our Salares Norte operation. Purpose To ensure continuity and stability of tailings and water plant processes, optimizing performance and minimizing risks. This is achieved through continuous supervision and adjustment of critical operational variables, ensuring safety and compliance with quality standards in gold and silver mining production. The primary challenge is balancing the need to maintain a constant and efficient operational flow with the imperative of risk and safety management. The role requires managing real-time operational complexities, all while working at high altitude and maximizing productivity by minimizing downtime. **In this position, your key responsibilities will include:** Support SIG compliance by applying guidelines during task execution Continuously monitor and adjust operational variables of the plant process. Operate control equipment and systems to sustain production and efficiency. Monitor operating conditions and execute immediate corrections per procedures. Maintain daily logs and reports on plant performance (including interpretation of trends and graphs). Participate in continuous improvement and preventive maintenance activities. Communicate relevant information regarding deviations to your direct supervisor. Coordinate work requiring shutdown of area equipment, minimizing downtime during maintenance. Monitor and adjust operational variables to maintain plant efficiency and safety. Assess and communicate newly identified risks to prevent potential incidents. Develop action plans to ensure compliance with certifications and safety standards. Who are we looking for? **Education:** Graduate of a Higher Technical Program in Mineral Processing Plant Operations, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related field. Additional qualifications such as mining safety certifications or specialized courses in mining operations management are highly valued. **Experience:** Minimum 5 years of experience in mining operations, preferably within the precious metals extraction industry (e.g., gold and silver). **Knowledge:** Must have monitored and adjusted operational variables in tailings plants, ensured operational continuity while maintaining efficiency, coordinated detailed maintenance activities, identified risks, and communicated deviations to supervisors. **Skills:** Tailings plant function and operation, control of critical plant process variables, HSE standards in mining, real-time control system operation, mining risk management.
