Procurement specialist

Description

The position involves coordinating the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials for an industrial plant. This is a full-time temporary contract, where you will collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations. Your primary responsibilities will be optimizing supplier performance, reducing total costs, and identifying productivity improvements. To achieve this, you must combine procurement experience with technical knowledge of the industrial environment. Among daily tasks, you will manage spare parts, technical consumables, maintenance services, and equipment. You will participate in launching procurement strategies to improve costs, quality, and delivery timelines. You will also conduct tenders, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate commercial terms. You will seek annual cost savings and opportunities to avoid unnecessary expenditures. You will maintain relationships with distributors, manufacturers, and service providers. You will collaborate with internal teams to understand their requirements and enhance efficiency. You will analyze spending data and market trends to identify cost-saving and standardization opportunities. You will also support initiatives to reduce inventory levels and improve supplier performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required. Interest in and understanding of strategic sourcing, MRO procurement, maintenance services, or industrial supply chain management are valued. Knowledge of manufacturing environments, maintenance operations, and industrial procurement practices is essential. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, along with analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities, are required. Experience with ERP systems—preferably SAP—and procurement tools is required. Ability to influence and collaborate across multifunctional teams and multiple manufacturing locations is essential. Experience in procuring MRO materials, spare parts, industrial services, and technical equipment—as well as exposure to capital expenditure (CapEx) procurement, engineering projects, contractor management, and project sourcing—will be considered an advantage.
