Join us and be part of the adventure of the century! **We are seeking an Operational Controller for our Madrid office** **Mission** Responsible for continuously monitoring and analyzing the financial and operational performance of the district heating and cooling business unit, ensuring profitability and alignment with strategic objectives. Includes monthly closing processes, analytical data analysis, preparation of periodic financial reporting, budgeting and action plan development and tracking. Acts as a liaison between management and the Controlling department, delivering analyses in a concise and executive format. **Responsibilities** * **Monitoring and Control of Activities:** Continuously supervise the evolution of financial and operational indicators (KPIs and KFIs), identify deviations from targets, propose corrective actions, and ensure information reliability. * **Information Management and Reporting:** Ensure information quality by actively participating in the development of management reports and indicators, designing and contributing to the creation of dashboards. Maintain and evolve systems and their technological development. * **Management Support:** Provide necessary information for strategic and operational decision-making. Lead coordination with other departments involved in the area of responsibility. * **Financial Planning and Modeling:** Develop the annual budget, medium-term plan, and monthly revisions and updates, building and managing financial models to track profitability. * **Optimization and Continuous Improvement:** Challenge operational managers, establishing appropriate mechanisms to monitor the evolution of operational metrics. * Ensure implementation and compliance with **Health & Safety, Diversity, Cybersecurity, Environment, Sustainability, Ethics, and Compliance Policies**, as well as defined organizational procedures and processes. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or another equivalent qualification oriented toward financial management. * An MBA or Master’s in Finance is highly desirable. * Between 5 and 10 years of experience as a Controller or in FP&A (Consulting/Auditing), with experience in the relevant energy sector. Financial modeling experience is valued. * Advanced knowledge of Accounting and Management Accounting. * Expert-level proficiency in spreadsheet software. * Specific software: SAP, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud. * Analytical capability. * Communication skills: ability to present clearly and adapt messaging to diverse audiences; negotiation and persuasion skills; active listening and empathy. * Teamwork and leadership: this role demands the highest leadership standards in managing multidisciplinary teams drawn from all areas of the organization. * Adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work while meeting committed deadlines. * Initiative, proactivity, and commitment. * Advanced English (C1) is mandatory.
