Associate Professor - Software Architectures for Robotics

Camilo José Cela University, through its School of Engineering and Technology and Science, seeks to appoint an Associate Professor to teach the course 'Software Architectures for Robotics' within the Bachelor's Degree in Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence during the 2026\-2027 academic year. We seek an active professional who wishes to combine their professional activity with university teaching, providing a practical and up-to-date perspective on software development for robotic systems and industrial automation. Responsibilities * Delivery of theoretical and practical instruction. * Design, preparation, and supervision of laboratory exercises. * Tutoring and student follow-up. * Assessment of assignments, projects, and examinations for the course. * Coordination with the program’s teaching team and participation in academic activities. Requirements * University degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related fields. * Professional experience in software development for robotics, automation, or industrial systems. * Solid knowledge of: * ROS and/or ROS2\. * Software architectures for robotic systems. * Distributed systems and inter-process communication. * Development, debugging, and simulation tools. * Integration of industrial automation systems. * Programming in C\+\+ and/or Python. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with industrial robotics platforms such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, or similar. * Proficiency with simulation tools such as ROBOGUIDE, Gazebo, or equivalents. * Knowledge of DDS, QoS, and real-time communications. * Experience integrating robots with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. * Experience with continuous integration, version control (Git), and software development methodologies. * University teaching experience or specialized technical training. * Doctorate or doctoral studies in related fields.
