Thus, we seek motivated individuals with solid expertise in these areas and a strong desire to keep learning about new technologies. **What will your day-to-day look like?** This role is responsible for developing large-scale data ingestion processes as well as data normalization processes. It is a technical, creative, and meticulous position whose main objective is to handle the capture and modeling of information of diverse nature, orchestrating associated processes to enable provisioning into storage systems—serving as a prerequisite for analytical and indicator visualization processes. Some typical day-to-day activities may include: * Extracting functional and non-functional requirements based on client needs regarding data ingestion and transformation. * Performing descriptive analysis of existing information from internal organizational sources, as well as additional external sources (open data or third-party data). * Cleaning, transforming, modifying, and processing data as required to align it with the intended final use (e.g., analytics, visualization), using tools defined in the architecture. * Designing and organizing the most efficient structure for storing ingested or transformed data. * Automating ingestion and transformation processes to ensure the data lifecycle within the Big Data solution. * Designing and implementing functional and non-functional test plans to validate code quality and minimize risk in production environments. * Reporting technical progress and challenges encountered during execution—and their resolution—to project leads. * Collaborating in developing functional and technical strategies to achieve project objectives, sharing relevant information with other team members. * Producing documentation and transferring knowledge to end users. **And for this, we believe it would be ideal if you had…** **Experience** * Required: +3 years of experience in Data Engineer roles. **Education** * Required: University degree (Bachelor’s, Licentiate, or Senior Engineer—or equivalent) in STEM disciplines: engineering, computer science, or sciences. * Desirable: Postgraduate specialization in Big Data, data processing, or related fields: Master’s or PhD. * Desirable: Non-university training, undertaken independently, in Big Data, data processing, or related topics. **Technical Skills** Required: * Experience developing ETL processes (batch or real-time). * Experience programming in Python. * Experience using relational SQL databases. * Experience operationalizing and deploying ETL processes into production.
